Collection: British Tweed

British tweeds were originally hand woven in the homes of rural workers to provide a hard-wearing weather resistant fabric and later became popular with country estate owners when they realised the benefits of the fabric. The advent of weaving mills ensured consistent quality and supply of the fabric, which was originally called Tweed.

Our selection of men’s hats is made from wool tweed from two well respected long established British mills, Mallalieus and Abraham Moon, each with over 150 years of weaving expertise. The tweeds have been carefully chosen for their tactile nature, warmth and protective qualities with Teflon coated checked waterproof Mallalieus tweeds and soft to the touch Moon herringbone and twills in a selection of traditional countryside colourways.
